This is not developing in a container. This is developing in a VM that uses a container. I don't get it? Why not just use Docker and Visual Studio Code with Remote Containers extensions on your Apple M1 and forget about the expense using a VM? That would be faster, and more light weight, and developing in a container (no VM needed). Its also has the added advantage that your code is actually on your MacBook hard drive and not in a VM. You should really rename this developing in a VM because the title is deceiving.
